MILITARY VEHICLE TRANSMISSIONS

For over 25 years, Allison has been very successful in applying commercial production transmissions to a variety of military vehicles. In fact, Allison has been selected for every US Army and US Marine Corps medium heavy tactical truck program since 1980. In addition to these tactical truck programs, Allison has participated in numerous other domestic and international wheeled combat vehicle programs.

Additionally, Allison has been the primary supplier of tracked vehicle transmissions to the US Army and its FMS customers since 1949. Allison has produced over 245,000 military transmissions and final drives - unique products typically custom tailored for specific military applications and engines.

1000 SERIES VEHICLE TRANSMISSION

The 1000 series brings superior performance of electronic controls from 6t to 15t vehicle GVW. The engine and transmission communicate by a powerful microprocessor providing precise, perfectly timed shifts whatever the road or load conditions. Standard features include lock-up operation in second to fifth range and helical gearing for reduced transmission noise.

2000 SERIES VEHICLE TRANSMISSION

The 2000 series transmission is designed for commercial trucks and smaller buses with gross weights up to 15,000kg (33,000lb). Adaptive technology ensures that optimum performance is maintained at all times while compensating for variations in driving conditions, such as loads, drivers and traffic patterns. Standard features include the availability of close and wide ratio gearing.

3000 SERIES VEHICLE TRANSMISSION

The 3000 series is flexible enough to work in a wide variety of vehicles, designed with a choice of close ratio for city streets and highway driving and wide ratio for construction and refuse applications. The torque converter results in better startability, particularly on gradients.

4000 SERIES VEHICLE TRANSMISSION

High horsepower and torque ratings make heavy-duty commercial vehicles more productive and easier to drive. With Allison electronic controls a 4000 Series can adapt to operate efficiently in a wide variety of conditions for superior performance in severe applications. Programming options can be set to prevent gear engagement whilst the auxiliary equipment is in operation.
