Euroquartz launches two new oscillator ranges at upcoming EDS 2017

Frequency control specialist Euroquartz is launching two new ranges of oscillators at the forthcoming Embedded Design Show (EDS 2017, 18-19 October, Ricoh Arena, Coventry, UK).

Offering an ultra-low phase jitter typical of 150fs, the new oscillators are produced in the UK and available in frequencies from 50MHz to 2,100MHz with a choice of outputs, including low voltage positive emitter coupled logic (LVPECL), low voltage differential signal(ing) (LVDS) and CML differential. High current steering logic (HCSL) differential outputs are available for oscillators up to 700MHz.

EQJF series oscillators feature a choice of supply voltages of 1.8V, 2.5V or 3.3V across the range apart from LVPECL with 2.5V and 3.3V only. Frequency stability specifications of ±25, ±50 and ±100ppm over both commercial (-10 to 70°C) and industrial (-40 to 85°C) temperature ranges are available as standard with tighter custom options supplied to special order.

Complementing the EQJF series is the EQVJF range of voltage controlled crystal oscillators (VCXOs) offering frequencies from 150MHz to 2,100MHz (HCSL 150MHz to 700MHz) with identical options and similar RMS phase jitter performance.

Both ranges feature maximum ageing of ±3ppm in the first year (±2ppm per year thereafter), duty cycle of 50% ±5%, rise times of 0.35ns maximum (0.4ns for HCSL) and current consumption from 70mA to 100mA typical depending on output logic selected.

Additional features include a start-up time typical of 5ms, 10ms maximum and output enable / disable functions.

RoHS compliant, the new EQJF oscillators and EQVJF VCXOs are housed in industry standard 8-pad, 7mm x 5mm surface mount packages capable of withstanding 260°C for ten seconds, twice.

Applications include flat panel displays for consumer TVs, video streaming systems via external cables (LDI), high-speed serial communications links such as Serial ATA and FireWire, SONET, xDSL, SDH, set-top box and Ethernet cards.

Euroquartz is exhibiting on stand F2.
