First shown at Milipol in Paris, ILEE’s PL 4 ‘Polizeilampe’ is a day-to-day duty light developed in response to specific demands received from European police forces. Its objective is to greatly increase the safety of police officers on patrols even when operating in areas where explosive gases might be present (Zone 2, ATEX 94/9/EG).
Tested and approved by police units, the PL 4 fulfils all operational requirements including tactical handgun shooting. It features:
- Reinforced polycarbonate housing
- Bright LED light rated at 170lx
- Four selectable functions set by rotating bezel which are activated by silent tail-switch (no click): safe storage ‘OFF’ (no power consumption); rapid situation assessment ‘temporary ON 100% light’; self-defence / immobilising ‘asynchronous fast strobe’ for complete disorientation; and working light ‘constant ON 100% light’ or constant 10% light (toggle)
- Low battery warning (blinking red LED)
- Click sensing and visual mode alignment indicator (red LED)
- Continuous operation at 100% light for around 5hr and over 25hr at 10% on one battery set of four standard alkaline (AA) or four rechargeable NiMH batteries
- Speed-loading battery cartridge for quick battery replacement
- Automatic power save mode if flashlight is not used
- Drop resistant and waterproof to 1m
- Lanyard attachment with automatic safety release
