Electromechanical aiming and stabilization systems

The purpose of the aiming and stabilization systems is to ensure that loads are positioned as accurately as possible. The assure position should also be maintained regardless of any interferences.

Whether small or big caliber, whether it's for a strong, lightweight turret, we offer the right system. Our systems are noted for their open modularity and high level of reliability.

The hereby specified electromechanical digital aiming and stabilization system consists of the following components:

• Rotary traverse drive
• Rotary or linear elevation drive
• Signal electronics AXCON, power electronics DRU traverse, power electronics DRU elevation (can be combined to one single unit DRUi Twin)
• Commander's handle
• Gunner's handle
• Software to interface to GDS to the turret fire control system, to control the system in different modes of operation and to maintain the GDS diagnose system.

The gears are designed for minimum backlash, maximum rigidity and efficiency. State-of-the-art electromechanical drives based on extensive engineering expertise. Sophisticated capability characteristics like very fast high positioning accuracy. Quality meets military standards. All systems fulfil MIL-STD 810E (ground army) and MIL- STD 461D (ground mobile), have short-term availability due to modular design and can be developed according to your needs.

Hand controllers (joysticks)

We can provide hand controllers of superior ergonomic design and capability that are lightweight and low cost. With superior technology, modular design structure, and easily adaptable components, we can help our customer to achieve superior performance and capability for all ground vehicle and naval applications.

The modularized hand controllers with built-in electronics can be used for a wide range of manual control. They are solidly built and therefore conform to such demanding standards as MIL-STD 810 and MIL-STD 461. Possible configurations can include analog and digital signals; RS 485, CAN bus and other data interfaces; up to ten switches per joystick and several other features.

Ammunition feeding systems

Curtiss-Wright Controls' ammunition handling systems can support high firepower at long ranges. Our next-generation artillery solutions offer an automatic loading system with independent trays for shell and unit charges. It can be operated through a hydraulic flick-ramming or electromechanical push-ramming system in cooperation with an electromechanical ammunition feeding system. Due to our extensive experience we can design an ammunition handling system to meet your exact specification.
