PKL’s rapid response service has an impressive record of delivering fast-track, portable catering facilities to the world’s military forces. Projects include temporary kitchens for the British Army in Iraq, the US Marine Corps in Afghanistan and Kuwait, for Iraqi Army training camps, the UN forces in Croatia and the Nato forces in the Balkans.

The company’s options range from bespoke containerised units and ‘softwall’ tented solutions for temporary, fast-response situations, through to modular system kitchens and complete temporary camps for longer-term facilities.

ISO-rated containerised systems are ready to be transported anywhere in the world, either by land, sea or air and are designed for a 25-year lifespan, so the units can be repeatedly relocated. Units can be used as stand-alone facilities or linked to form much larger camp facilities that can incorporate ablution blocks, bakery facilities, office and dining areas.

Tented solutions can be used as a solution in their own right or as a supplement to a containerised kitchen, perhaps to form a dining area.

The more permanent modular system kitchens take full advantage of the latest off-site construction methods to offer a facility equivalent to a traditional construction but with very reduced lead times.

PKL Group is the UK’s largest supplier of temporary kitchen facilities with over 900 portable kitchen buildings and 9,000 items of catering equipment readily available for hire.
