Klinge Corporation unveiled their new BRG-540-SC for specialised sliding skeletal trailers at Multimodal 2011 in Birmingham, UK. With 4,198 visitors, the show attracted a record number of attendees.
Klinge Corporation’s BRG-540-SC was designed specifically for a new sliding skeletal trailer that overcomes the absence of a multi-purpose trailer capable of servicing reefers ranging from 20ft to 45ft. This has historically been a major restriction.
The height of the BRG-540-SC generator set design has been lowered for compatibility with conventional loading docks. This new compact design has been a momentous change for cold chain operators.
Klinge Corp’s BRG-540-SC creates a much more complete seal between the reefer and the building because the reefer is at the correct height to correspond with the dock.
Sales manager for US-based company Klinge Corporation, said: “This seal substantially minimises temperature loss. With the shorter height of our new BRG-540-SC, the reefer is now capable of being placed at the correct height to correspond with the dock.”
Designed by David Nestor Freight Services and manufactured by SDC Trailer, these new specialised sliding skeletal trailers meet the requirements of both short and deep sea container lines.
The BRG-540-SC generator set
The BRG-540-SC diesel generator set is a self-contained, automatic, and diesel engine powered electric generator set that supplies either 230V, 460V or 230V/460V (dual voltage), 60Hz, three-phase electrical power. The diesel engine runs at 1800rpm.
Providing 15kW (18.75kVA) of power, Klinge Corp’s BRG-540-SC is specifically designed to meet the tough under chassis operating environment.
In addition to sliding skeletal trailers, the BRG-540 fits 20ft and 40ft chassis types. Klinge Corp’s exclusive design mounts to 8in, 10in and 12in I beams, meaning maximum ground clearance and fast attachment with a four point, captive mounting system.
Service and maintenance are easy by accessibility to components with the unit mounted on chassis.
The BRG-540-SC features a POWER GUARD™ Fault Protection System providing overload and single phase protection, high coolant temperature and low oil pressure fault protection.
The POWER GUARD electronic and fault control system enhances safety by preventing personal injury from inadvertent removal of plug.
