Global technology company Vislink has received an order to supply handheld intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) receiver devices and associated equipment.

The $4m order has been awarded by the US Department of Defense (DoD).

According to the company, the ruggedised and lightweight ISR receivers are used to support communications relayed by aerial assets or frontline surveillance platforms.

They are designed to display high-resolution, real-time video imagery.

The company’s ‘mission-critical, ultra-low latency equipment’ delivers broadcast-quality video and can operate reliably in challenging and hostile environments.

These communication solutions help improve situational awareness for the armed forces and enhance tactical and operational results across many applications.

Vislink CEO Mickey Miller said: “Vislink’s enduring relationship with the military is a testament to our high-quality wireless video communication solutions and the continued crucial need for real-time and secure video data delivery of actionable intelligence.

“We are honoured to continue to be chosen by the United States’ military forces to serve as a go-to source for best-in-class video performance technology.”

The is not the first time the company has received orders for its systems from the US Armed Forces.

In July 2019, the US Army placed an order worth approximately $2.8m for the purchase of these devices.

The delivery of equipment under this order was fulfilled last year.
