Exelis has received a direct commercial sale contract to supply night vision tubes to the Taiwanese military.

Under the terms of the $10m agreement, the company will partner with U&U Engineering to supply an undisclosed number of generation three night vision tubes for the Taiwanese Armed Forces.

The company did not disclose the type of tubes to be supplied.

"We believe this is just the first of many opportunities for Exelis and U&U to support the Taiwanese military with our night vision equipment."

Exelis Night Vision and Communications Solutions president and general manager Nick Bobay said: "This is our first contract award of night vision equipment for the Taiwanese military and we will work diligently with our partner U&U Engineering to deliver our renowned Gen three quality tubes.

"We believe this is just the first of many opportunities for Exelis and U&U to support the Taiwanese military with our night vision equipment and other products as needed."

Manufacturing work will be carried out at the Exelis’ night vision manufacturing facility in Roanoke, Virginia, US, while deliveries are scheduled to take place during the first six months of this year.
