Oshkosh Defense has won a contract from the US Army for the medium tactical vehicles (FMTV) rebuy program.
The FMTV rebuy programme is a five-year, indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract award for the production of up to 23,000 vehicles and trailers and support and engineering services.
The FMTV are tactical wheeled vehicles based on a common truck cab, chassis, internal components and two tactical trailers.
The FMTV includes 23 varied vehicles with 17 different models of 2.5t cargo and van models and 5t cargo, tractor, van, wrecker, tanker and dump-truck models.
The vehicles perform local and line haul, unit mobility, unit resupply and various missions in combat, combat support and combat service support units.
The contract’s first delivery order is valued at $280.9m for the production and delivery of 2,568 trucks and trailers.
