Saab has received a $12.4m contract to produce and field simulators and targets for five gunnery ranges for the US Army, to support the army’s digital range training system (DRTS) programme.

General Dynamics Information Technology, the gunnery ranges’ lead integrator, has ordered the moving and stationary targets and simulators be installed in the next two years.

DRTS programme offers live-fire gunnery training facilities to soldiers in a train-as-you-fight environment through live simulation and post-action analysis ability with position location, video imagery and digital vehicle information.
