Russia and France are working on joint military projects at the ongoing 48th Paris Air Show at Le Bourget.

Russia is in discussions with France to develop a heavy-lift transport helicopter and sell advanced artillery ammunition, RIA Novosti reported.

The new helicopter, expected to lift up to 20t of cargo, is based on Russia's biggest and most powerful civilian / military helicopter Mi-26T Halo.

Russian officials also confirmed that France was interested in Russian-made Krasnopol-M cannon-launched guided projectiles (CLGP) modified according to Nato standards.

The fin-stabilised Krasnopol-M is a semi-automatic laser-guided explosive projectile for hard point targets such as tanks, SP howitzers or other high-value targets moving at speeds up to 36km/h.
