The US Army in Illesheim, Germany has said it is ready to train pilots on the advanced Apache Longbow Crew Trainer (LCT) from Boeing.
The LCT is the Army’s first mobile trainer equipped with two new Boeing technologies – Next Generation Flight Model (NGFM) and Common Simulation Framework (CSF).
The helicopter simulator was delivered in April 2009 and is now ready for training.
The LCT also provides the US Army with new image-generator technology that enables more realistic “out-of-the-window” scenes in real time.
The full-mission, high-fidelity flight simulator supports battalions by providing pilots with ample opportunity to meet their training needs and rehearse missions.
It is currently deployed worldwide and used for in-theatre training in Afghanistan and Iraq.
