Meprolight has introduced its lightweight, un-cooled thermal weapons sight, NOA NYX, at the ongoing three-day Defence & Security Equipment International (DSEi) exhibition in London, UK.

The NOA NYX weighs less than 1kg and uses high-resolution microbolometer technology to address issues of precise target detection.

The thermal weapon sight can be used as a hand-held observation device and can also be fitted to light machine guns, assault rifles and submachine guns with the help of MIL-STD-1913 rail system.

The system’s long-range capability allows it to be used for sharpshooter rifles, which can detect targets at a distance of up to 900m.

The NOA NYX, with a ‘video out’ feed, can be brought into action in less than five seconds and can be operated continuously for up to seven hours.
