Iran may display its next-generation long-range cruise missiles later this month, the Iranian Defence Ministry’s Industry and Research Institute deputy head Mohammad Eslami has said.
The ISNA quoted the official as saying: “the projectiles are to be unveiled on 22 August on the occasion of the national Day of Defence Industry. The new missile has a longer reach than previous cruise missiles,” he added.
“With accurate programming, these missiles can target the enemy quickly,” according to Eslami.
Iran has been mass producing crucial military equipment and systems for its armed forces and has also test-fired new cruise missiles.
Recently it delivered new missile systems to the navy that are capable of tracking and engaging various targets at sea.
