Navistar Defense has received both a contract extension and a delivery order from the US Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command to support Afghanistan Security Forces.

Under the $28m order, the company will provide 194 general troop transport vehicles based on the international 7000-Mvplatform, as well as spare parts.

Navistar Defense president Archie Massicotte said the company has been supporting the Afghanistan Security Forces since 2005.

The contract extension has a ceiling of $83m including additional vehicle orders and will run through December 2011.

Production will be carried out at the company’s assembly facilities in Texas and Mississippi, US.
