Raytheon has completed the first delivery of three Patriot tactical guided enhanced missile (GEM-T) test missiles to the US Government.

The delivery contract was awarded to Raytheon for the UAE under a US foreign military sales route for the procurement of the advanced Patriot system for air and missile defence.

The missile assets will undergo UN testing that supports the final hazard classification for the new production run of GEM-T missiles.

The GEM-T is an upgrade to the Patriot advanced capability (PAC-2) missile featuring a new fuse and a new low noise oscillator, which increases the seeker's sensitivity to low radar cross-section targets.

Raytheon IDS is the prime contractor for both domestic and international Patriot air and missile defence systems and system integrator for Patriot advanced capability-3 missiles.
