General Dynamics Land Systems-Australia (GDLS-A) has been awarded a through-life support contract for the Australian Army’s ASLAV wheeled armoured fighting vehicles.
The five-year A$44.8m contract also includes a one-year phase-in period and the implementation of a performance management framework.
The through-life support services will be delivered for M1A1 Abrams tanks and M88A2 heavy recovery vehicles to enhance fleet availability.
The company will also provide spare parts and repairs as well as maintenance and engineering tasks as required through the integrated support contract.
GDLS-A managing director Gary Stewart said the performance-based contract would enable the combat vehicle fleets to remain as a strategic industry capability within the country.
