Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) has received an order from the German Federal Office for Defence and Procurement (BWB) for the assembly and delivery of 39 Dingo 2 vehicles.
The Dingo 2 will be equipped with a light remote weapon station (RWS) to be able to respond quickly and flexibly to changing mission demands.
The vehicle allows the crew to operate the weapon station precisely and effectively from within the protected interior of the vehicle, even at high speeds and rough terrains.
The vehicles will be delivered to the German troops in Afghanistan by November 2011.
About 1,000 variants of Dingos are currently in service with six European nations.
