The US Army has awarded a firm fixed-price contract to Raytheon to produce a system to defeat improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Work will be carried out at the Raytheon Technical Services site in Indianapolis, US.

The details of the $51.5m contract have not been disclosed.

Raytheon provides electronics, mission systems integration and other capabilities in the areas of sensing, effects, command, control, communications and intelligence systems.
