The Sri Lankan Army will being a nine-day-long joint exercise, entitled Ex-Cormorants Strike, on 21 November.

For the first time, over 2,500 troops from the army, navy and air force with special forces troops, commandos, naval ships and aircraft will participate in the field training exercise.

The exercise will test the command ability of the armed forces, decision-making, execution of designed concepts, mutual understanding, discovery of personal capability and limitations, logistics and replenishments.

Training will be conducted in an amphibious setting, focusing on specialised ground operations and will be executed in stages.
