INKAS has revealed plans to open three new production facilities across Canada and the US, a move set to more than double the manufacturing space of the Canadian armoured vehicle manufacturer and systems integrator in North America.

The newly leased sites, located in Toronto, Charlotte, and Fort Pierce, are expected to become fully operational by the end of this month.

According to INKAS, the planned expansion will add approximately 42,000ft2 of additional manufacturing space in Toronto, 200,000ft2 for an armoured vehicle facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, and 31,000ft in Fort Pierce, Florida.

By increasing its manufacturing footprint, INKAS aims to enhance its capabilities to meet rising demand from its existing customer base. Its customers include government entities, defence organisations, law enforcement agencies, specialised vehicle clients, and commercial security firms.

The greater capacity is expected to provide the company with increased operational flexibility and a stronger platform to deliver current and future programmes in the areas of armoured vehicles, tactical platforms, drones, unmanned aerial vehicles, and special purpose vehicles.

The Charlotte facility has been specifically equipped for armoured vehicle production, benefitting from an experienced workforce with a background in this sector. This is seen as a way to accelerate operations in the US without developing such capabilities from scratch.

INKAS CEO David Khazanski said: “This expansion marks an important milestone in the continued growth of INKAS as a North American manufacturer.

“By adding significant production space across Canada and the US, we are strengthening our ability to support customers with reliable, scalable, and mission-ready security and defence solutions.”

The company says the move forms part of a broader strategy to increase production capacity, strengthen operational resiliency, and expand its portfolio of armoured, tactical, uncrewed, and other specialised solutions.

It follows INKAS’ recent introductions of the INKAS Modular Light Tactical Vehicle (MLTV) and the INKAS ANURI Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle (UAV) at the CANSEC 2026 trade show.
