Comtech Systems has received a new order for the delivery of 50Mb/s tactical troposcatter equipment to a supplier to the UAE Armed Forces.
Based in Orlando, Florida, Comtech Systems is the subsidiary of US-based telecommunications equipment company Comtech Telecommunications and is part of the company’s Government Solutions segment.
Under the $2m deal, the supplier will procure the Modular Transportable Transmission System (MTTS) troposcatter terminals to be supplied to the UAE Armed Forces as a proof of concept vehicle that would help determine the ability of the MTTS to into the existing military communications environment.
Comtech Telecommunications president and chief executive officer Fred Kornberg said: “This project shows the growing role of deployable troposcatter systems around the world, and their power to enable low-latency, high-throughput data links across areas that are otherwise inaccessible due to geography or other factors.
“As the only modern field-proven deployable troposcatter system, Comtech’s MTTS is a natural choice for the UAE Armed Forces.”
Comtech’s 50MB tropo modem has been selected for its improved field record with both international customers and the US Military, in addition to the unmatched performance of the Comtech CS67500 modem.
MTTS is the first modular, rapidly deployable, transit cased troposcatter system.
Comtech Systems focuses on the design, integration, delivery, and commissioning of major communication systems, including troposcatter, line-of-sight microwave and satellite.
