FAUN Trackway, the leading manufacturer of portable roadways and runways, is bringing its designs for a new UAV landing mat to the Singapore Airshow.

The new product has been specifically developed for unmanned aerial vehicles and is designed to provide a smooth landing for any size or weight of UAV.

The Australian Armed Forces is the first to invest in the product and has recently placed an £800,000 order for the aluminium landing mat.

The mat is deployable by hand and will help protect assets from foreign object damage (FOD). To enable rapid deceleration the landing mats can also be fitted with arrestor gear.
The product is the latest addition to FAUN’s set of temporary runway solutions including the Aircraft Landing Mat (ALM) and the Helicopter Landing Mat (HLM).

The ALM and HLM are used to protect aircraft from unstable ground and FOD. Both products can be used as temporary installations or semi-permanent fixtures.

FAUN Trackway’s products are used by over 40 armed forces worldwide and are employed in military and relief missions.

Chris Kendall, business development manager at FAUN Trackway, said: "Protecting valuable aircraft is essential for successful missions and our products keep armed forces and their assets safe."

He continued: "The Australian military has invested in the very latest unmanned technology and our new landing mat provides them with a solution for protecting their UAVs."

FAUN Trackway is exhibiting on stand M73 at the Singapore Airshow.
