The latest approval is expected to support the Netherlands with enhanced military capabilities to improve national and territorial defence.

The procurement will also help the country to build on interoperability with the US and Nato members.

In a statement, the DSCA said: “This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by helping to improve the security of a Nato ally that is an important force for political stability and economic progress in Europe.”

The potential of the FMS followed the Netherlands’ request to procure 34 Patriot Advanced Capability 3 (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) missiles.
