The Government of Ukraine has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Kuwait Government to support military cooperation between the two nations.
Several bilateral documents were also signed following negotiations between Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and the Emir of the State of Kuwait Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The agreement will help develop a legal framework for cooperation between the countries in the defence sector, including logistics, military education, and personnel training.
As part of the cooperation, the countries agreed on the mutual exchange of intelligence and other specialised information, as well as collaboration between their defence and industrial complexes, the supply of armaments, and military equipment.
Development and implementation of necessary programmes, joint research, joint production, and sale of defence equipment through the use of technologies would be supported by a legal framework created by the cooperation.
A MoU and scientific cooperation have also been signed between the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research in order to develop long-term mutually beneficial scientific and technical cooperation.
