Under the terms of the agreement, Elbit Systems will supply its ReDrone system, which is designed to counteract uncrewed aerial threats.

The modular C-UAS solution integrates various technologies including the DAiR Radar, SIGINT sensors, electronic warfare (EW) countermeasures, and Electro-Optical (EO) payload that capture images during both day and night.

This combination offers an upgraded aerial surveillance capability coupled with top-tier electronic disruption potential.

Elbit Systems ISTAR & EW general manager Oren Sabag said: “This contract, coming amid the rising threat of unmanned aerial systems, follows a series of contracts awarded to us in the CUAS field. We are proud that another NATO member country has chosen our solution, further demonstrating the robustness and effectiveness of our system, built on our advanced capabilities in EW, SIGINT, radar, and EO technologies.”

The ReDrone system is a sensor-laden platform capable of multi-mission performance and is part of Elbit’s extensive portfolio in EW, radar technology, and SIGINT.

It excels in quickly pinpointing and tracking numerous drones at once across different communication frequencies within a secured perimeter, according to the company.

The system’s capabilities extend to detecting, identifying, pinpointing, following, and neutralising adversarial UAS under various conditions — including night-time operations, urban settings, rural landscapes, and challenging weather scenarios.

The ReDrone can be deployed in both fixed and vehicular-mounted mobile configurations to maximise operational adaptability. It also features sophisticated command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence systems that facilitate complete mission oversight and control.

This latest contract follows Elbit Systems’ August 2023 award of a $55m contract to supply the ReDrone C-UAS solution to the Netherlands.
