The US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has selected Box for its cloud content management platform that would deliver secure collaboration across the agency and with external research partners.
The Box solution will enable DARPA to continue its focus on revolutionising how the agency powers its research and development mission while addressing strict security requirements and compliance standards.
Box Global Public Sector managing director Sonny Hashmi said: “DARPA is the most impactful research and development organisation in the world, having led the development of technologies such as the Global Positioning System, the Internet, and many others.
“We are thrilled to support DARPA’s mission, helping to transform the way they manage research and development projects by empowering their workforce with more collaboration between internal and external stakeholders, all while ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) Cybersecurity guidelines.”
DARPA selected Box to create a collaboration platform for the US agency’s interconnected partners, and allow employees and external parties to access, share and work on research projects, and analyse findings together.
Under the deal, Box will also help advance the US DoD’s cloud strategy while ensuring secure, mobile access to business-critical resources, and provide IT with the security, controls and administrative insights required to manage, govern and protect sensitive data.
Box chief operating officer Stephanie Carullo said: “As technology continues to modernise digital workplaces, government agencies are increasingly seeing the need to adopt IT strategies that improve engagement with stakeholders, progress key initiatives and protect critical information.
“We are excited to partner with DARPA as the agency furthers its cloud strategy, creating a more agile, connected and productive environment for its global workforce.”
