In October 2025, NovoQuad Group’s handheld anti-drone systems were deployed to safeguard the Romería de la Virgen de Zapopan – one of Mexico’s largest and most significant annual religious pilgrimages, held in Guadalajara, the country’s second-largest city. Drawing vast crowds and a procession spanning several kilometres, the event required strong and dependable protection against potential drone threats throughout its 17.5hr duration.

To assist the Guadalajara City Center in maintaining airspace security, the following systems were deployed on-site:

ND-BD003: Innovative Handheld Solution with Integrated Smart Detection

ND-BD003 is a pioneering handheld anti-drone jammer that integrates both detection and jamming functions into one compact, lightweight unit. Designed for mobility and quick deployment, it enables operators to efficiently detect and counter unauthorised drones without the need for two separate devices.

Smart Detection and Instant Target Alerts

Once a drone is detected, ND-BD003 automatically pinpoints its direction and notifies the operator through sound and light alerts. The built-in LED screen displays essential information, such as drone model, communication frequency, and signal strength, allowing quick assessment and precise response to potential threats on site.

ND-BD005: Advanced Handheld Counter-Drone System with Extended Functions

ND-BD005 is an advanced handheld anti-drone system that integrates detection, jamming, and optional GPS spoofing functions in a single, high-performance unit. Designed to counter modern drone technologies such as 4G and 5G models, it provides long-range coverage and supports multi-device ad hoc networking as well as interconnection with the central command and control platform.

Integrated Display and Easy Operation

Unlike ND-BD003, which uses a smartphone to display maps and detection data, the ND-BD005 features a built-in touch screen for direct operation. Operators can easily view real-time information, adjust parameters, manage blacklists and whitelists and review historical records – all within the system interface.

Decoding and Spoofing: Enhanced Precision and Control

Beyond conventional detection, ND-BD005 can decode drone communication protocols to determine the precise locations of both the drone and its remote controller. With the optional spoofing module, it can redirect drones toward pre-designated safe zones, effectively removing them from restricted airspace.

Both systems performed reliably in the field throughout the entire operation, detecting and neutralising unauthorised drones with consistency. Their success reaffirmed the reliability of NovoQuad Group’s handheld anti-drone solutions.
