Raytheon will be a subcontractor on the US$766m JTRS contract, which was awarded to Lockheed Martin in March 2008.

The AMF domain will provide network and interoperable communications for more than 160 platform types including fixed and rotary wing aircraft, submarines and surface ships, and fixed stations worldwide.

Raytheon will also design, develop and manufacture ancillary products for the system, including power supplies and filters.

Raytheon has a role in other JTRS domains including the
handheld-manpack domain and the ground mobile radio domain, the firm says.
