The Government of Bahrain is planning to acquire 25 AIM-120C-7 advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles (AMRAAM) in a $74m deal with the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency.

The AMRAAM, built by Raytheon, has a multishot capability and can be launched during day or night, in all weather conditions. Its autonomous guidance technology allows for immediate manoeuvrability following launch.

The contract includes the supply of missile containers, spare and repair parts, support and test equipment, publications and technical documentation as well as personnel training and training equipment, and technical and logistics support services.

Raytheon Missile Systems Corporation is the prime contractor for the production of missiles.
