“Javelin is the weapon of choice for infantry, special operations and rapid reaction forces due to its unmatched lethality, versatility and gunner survivability,” Gooden said.

The compact, lightweight Javelin is a man-portable, fire-and-forget, multi-purpose missile system specifically designed for one-soldier operations in all environments.

Deliveries of the missiles are expected to begin in 2010 and run until 2012.
