The contract follows Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV), a joint venture of Rheinmetall and MAN Truck & Bus, winning the bid in a public request for tenders.

The fuel tank trucks will be used at various German Army and Air Force airfields.

While the company will start supplying the vehicles from July 2023, the final delivery is expected to be completed by 2024 end.

As per the terms of the deal, Rheinmetall is also required to deliver fuelling components for the tank build-on along with special tools.

Additionally, the two sides signed a service contract for a span of 12 years in this regard.

The TGS 8×4 truck, developed in coordination with Esterer of Helsa, has a tank volume of over 22,000l.

The truck also features a filter and a digitised build-on that can be connected to information systems. The vehicle’s spare part documentation can be accessed in digital format.

The company, in a statement, said “Rheinmetall continues to strengthen its strong ties with the Bundeswehr”.

Two years ago, Rheinmetall received an order from Bundeswehr for the delivery of 342 roll-off tippers.
