The Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV) has awarded a contract for armoured wheeled vehicles (AMV) to Patria.

Under the approximately SKr2.5bn ($336m) deal, the group will provide 113 armoured vehicles to the Swedish Army.

Patria Land & Armament president Seppo Sepp#228;lä said the AMV was a safe and field-proven vehicle capable of operating in the region’s extreme conditions.

The final assembly of AMVs will take place in Finland with deliveries scheduled by the end of 2013 allowing initial operational capability to the army in 2014.

The contract also includes an option for another 113 vehicles.

Launched in 2004, Patria AMV has contracts for 1,300 vehicles.
