The two companies together will provide improved capabilities for digital modernisation throughout the Department of Defence.

The combined company will strengthen SOLUTE relationships within the US Navy, especially Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), and Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR).

SOLUTE CEO John Lyons said: “Sigma Defense aligns perfectly with the mission, capabilities, and people of SOLUTE.

“Both organisations have a pedigree of delivering digital modernisation for the DoD. Sigma Defense’s focus on hardware-led solutions, combined with SOLUTE’s software-led approach, creates a powerful company that has the ability to deliver impeccable results for our DoD customers.”

SOLUTE specialises in system modernisation, witha primary focus on cyber security, cloud architectures, software engineering, and development security operations (DevSecOps) for the US DoD.

The technology and engineering firm’s DevSecOps programmes include Black Pearl, which provides a ‘shared development environment and platform’.

Last year, the US DoD awarded two research contracts to assess the use of 5G networks on the battlespace.
