The TITAN system is a portable ground station being developed to provide targetable data and enable swift assessment of threats from adversaries leveraging high altitude, aerial and terrestrial layer sensors.

The two deployable and semi-autonomous prototypes will be used to evaluate the value of space assets for procuring tactical intelligence and improving battlefield awareness in Anti-Access/Area Denial (A2AD) environments.

Northrop Grumman integrated national systems vice-president Troy Brashear said: “Our ground station prototypes will integrate existing software and hardware capabilities to showcase a unique ability to provide access to multi-domain actionable intelligence from commercial and military space systems.

“As a proven provider of multi-domain intelligence capabilities, we give the warfighter the ability to complete critical missions in far-reaching and highly-contested areas in a safe and deployable environment.”

The system will also enable the integration of the intelligence with data procured from multi-domain sensors, leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to develop target data and deliver it to weapon platforms.

This will reduce sensor-to-shooter (S2S) timelines and will improve the effectiveness of Long-Range Precision Fires (LRPF).

The prototypes are expected to support multiple demonstration exercises in 2022 and 2023.

Last month, Northrop Grumman secured a contract to support the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Strategic Technology Office’s (STO) Gamebreaker programme.

The programme is designed to develop new military strategies by leveraging existing real-time strategy games.
