Comtech Telecommunications’ Mission-Critical Technologies group has secured an order to continue providing its ongoing sustainment services for the US Army.

The order comprises $6.5m additional funding on a previously announced $124.2m contract for three years.

As part of the order, Mission-Critical will provide ongoing sustainment services and baseband equipment. To date, the contract has received funding of $95m.

Mission-Critical Technologies group aims to deliver services to conduct missions including communication on land and sea, launching or tracking a satellite and protecting the cybersecurity of their network.

Comtech Telecommunications CEO and Board chairman Fred Kornberg said: “This award further illustrates that Comtech is making an important contribution to the mission of our US Army customer by delivering reliable, secure communications systems.”

Mission-Critical is part of Comtech’s Government Solutions segment.

Last month, Comtech Telecommunication’s subsidiary Comtech EF Data won a delivery order for satellite ground station equipment. The order was placed by an undisclosed South East Asian Ministry of Defence (MoD).

The MoD selected the CDM-625A Advanced Satellite Modem following a request for proposal (RFP) process, and technical evaluation and testing.

In January this year, Comtech Telecommunications subsidiary Comtech EF Data secured an order from a major US Department of Defense (DoD) contractor for satellite modems.

As part of the order, Comtech EF Data agreed to deliver the DMD2050E MIL-STD-188-165A/STANAG 4486 Edition 3 Compliant Universal Satellite Modem to support the US Army Project Manager (PM) Tactical Network.

Comtech Telecommunications designs, develops, produces and markets products, systems and services for advanced communications solutions.
