LAND 19 Phase 7B is the Australian Government’s Short-Range Ground-Based Air Defence programme.

NASAMS has been integrated into the US National Capital Region’s air defence system since 2005. It is a short to medium-range air defence system owned by nine countries.

REDARC Defence Account Manager Mike Hartas said: “REDARC Defence Systems is proud to work with Kongsberg on the LAND 19 Phase 7B programme in Australia.

“Kongsberg’s approach to Australian industry capability is testament to what can be done when the defence companies and Australian industry want to work together to deliver real capability to the Australian Defence Force.

“The transfer of technology to the Australian industry will ensure the capability delivered under LAND 19 Phase 7B will be enduring and supportable in Australia.”

REDARC Defence Systems was launched by Redarc Electronics last year to address the growing needs of the country’s defence market.

The company offers a mix of commercial off-the-shelf, modified off-the-shelf and customised and build-to-print electronic solutions for various defence vehicles. It is capable of conceptualising, designing, testing and manufacturing complex electronics products for defence applications.

Last June, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace won an Nkr1.6bn ($186.2m) contract from Raytheon Australia to supply NASAMS components. The contract was awarded to support the Land 19 Phase 7B programme for the army.
