US-based military aviation aftermarket distributor Aero Precision has purchased aftermarket sustainment solutions provider Kellstrom Defense.

Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed by the companies.

However, the combination of the companies will provide Aero Precision with access to legacy aircraft, which include B707 (military applications include E8/JSTARS and E3), F5 and P3, and other original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partnerships.

This acquisition deal will help streamline the logistics management of the integrated organisation in order to add value for its customers and partners.

Aero Precision is owned by a fund managed by Odyssey Investment Partners. It has stocking distribution agreements in place with Honeywell, Collins Aerospace, Parker, Eaton and more.

Kellstrom Defense provides support to the US military and customers in more than 60 partnering nations.

It also has operational presence in California, Florida and Georgia in the US, Cambridge in the UK, Singapore, Abu Dhabi in the UAE, and South Windsor, Australia.

Currently, the range of military aircraft platforms handled by the two companies includes C130, UH60, F15, F16 and F18.
