Airbus Helicopters subsidiary Helibras has announced the delivery of two H225Ms to the Brazilian Armed Forces.

Both helicopters have been delivered in the full operational configuration.

The first of two helicopters is intended for the Brazilian Army and includes specially designed mission systems, Airbus Helicopters stated.

To be operated by the 1º BAvEx, the helicopter is the ninth H225M to join the Brazilian Army’s fleet and will be based in Taubaté.

The second H225M has been delivered to the Brazilian Air Force for combat search and rescue operations.

The latest delivery increases the total number of H225Ms in the air force’s fleet to 12, and the Brazilian Armed Forces will receive two more by the end of 2017.

Helibras president Richard Marelli said: "We are on track with the delivery schedule and we are confident, thanks to our highly skilled teams that we will deliver on time to the three armed forces.”

The company has developed a local supply chain, which currently includes 37 Brazilian companies.

Helibras assembled Brazil’s H225Ms at its plant in Itajuba, as well as developed in-country specific mission systems at its advanced engineering centre.

The company is expected to complete the delivery of a total of 50 H225Ms by the end of 2022.
