The US Army has awarded contracts with a total value of $92.5m to CGI Federal to support its Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) programmes.

The contracts to support four separate AMCOM programmes were awarded to CGI, which will operate as part of a subcontracting team to the incumbent prime contractor.

Each contract will have a five-year operation period, if all option years are exercised.

CGI Federal president Tim Hurlebaus said: "CGI has the subject matter expertise and contract experience to deliver unique insight into these AMCOM programmes and processes.”

As part of the contracts, CGI will provide the Precision Fires Rocket and Missile Systems (PFRMS) Project Office with acquisition process and software development support.

The company will also assist with the procurement and development of Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) launchers, as well as the MLRS documentation configuration management process.

In addition, the company will help the AMCOM Logistics Center (ALC) with its Reliability Improvement through Failure Identification and Reporting (RIMFIRE) procedures.

CGI will ensure successful execution of the Utility Helicopter Project Management Office (UHPMO) acquisition initiatives for the US Army's UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter programme.

The scope of the contract also includes configuration, data management, status accounting, and standardisation services for AMCOM's Research, Development and Engineering Center's (RDEC) Technical Data Management Division (TDMD).

AMCOM is responsible for developing and delivering responsive aviation, missile and calibration systems to the US Army in order to optimise joint warfighter capabilities.

It provides integrated engineering, logistics and contracting to more than 90 major aviation and missile systems throughout their lifecycles, which accounts for around half of the systems used by the US Army.
