The Polish Army has awarded a contract to Israel’s Aeronautics Defense Systems to supply its Aerostar tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for operations in Afghanistan.
Under the $30m contract, the company will supply two Aerostar tactical UAV systems, comprising eight UAVs, ground control stations and simulators.

In addition, the company will also provide set-up support and training for a UAV squadron in Poland, which will be deployed in Afghanistan.
The Aerostar weighs 230kg and has a maximum operating altitude of 6,000m and a range of 250km.
