Saab has chosen Anduril Rocket Motor Systems as a supplier of solid rocket motors (SRM) for the Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB) system, delivered in collaboration with Boeing.
Anduril will be responsible for the design, development, qualification, and production of the SRM.

The company will provide a “high-performance” motor that matches the performance and mass characteristics of the M26 MLRS solid rocket motor, which is currently used in the GLSDB.
Anduril said it leverages enhanced design focused on safety and cost, new supplier relationships, and advanced manufacturing technologies to deliver GLSDB systems in large quantities.
Works on developing and qualifying the system have already begun, with plans to commence production at full rate in 2026.
The company is also investing $75m in expanding its McHenry, Mississippi facility, which will expedite the delivery of essential technology to warfighters. The expansion of the facility is expected to complete in July 2025.

“Compounded with a recent $14.3m Defense Production Act award, we are applying single-piece-flow manufacturing, bladeless high-speed mixer, and automation new to the SRM industry to efficiently and affordably produce and qualify these propulsion systems,” Anduril said in a statement.
In April 2025, Anduril Rocket Motors completed static test fire of a 21-inch hypersonic rocket motor for the US Navy’s STANDARD Missile Program.
In March 2025, the US Army selected Anduril to develop and qualify a new 4.75-inch solid rocket motor (SRM) to improve long-range precision rocket artillery missions.
