QinetiQ US has appointed Shawn Purvis as president and CEO effective 16 February 2022. In her new role, Purvis will be responsible for the complete operations of the business while transforming QinetiQ US.

Purvis currently leads Northrop Grumman’s Enterprise Service sector, responsible for global cyber security, operations and next-generation digitalisation, including digital design for engineering, production and manufacturing operations.

She said in a company statement: “I am incredibly honoured and excited to be given the opportunity to lead the talented and dedicated people who make up our QinetiQ US business, as we continue to deliver mission-critical sensing and robotic capabilities for the US warfighter.

“With an ambition to build a disruptive mid-tier company in the US through both organic growth and strategy-led acquisitions, I am focused on driving both strong operational performance and executing on our growth strategy for the medium and long-term.”

Her achievements include the functional integration of a multi-billion dollar acquisition.

She has over 25 years of experience in profit and loss (P&L) and has led multiple large organisations in the areas of defence, intelligence and cybersecurity technical solutions to support customers domestically and worldwide. Purvis reportedly achieved organic revenue growth and margin improvement year-over-year.

She worked with Lockheed Martin, Science Applications International Corporation and Northrop Grumman on a wide range of matters, including strategic, financial and engineering operations and customer-focused leadership positions.

The new QinetiQ president was named as one of the top 25 executives to watch in 2020 and 2021 by the Washington Exec and in 2021 received her first WASH100 award, a premier group of private and public sector leaders award.
