Indra Group and BAE Systems OneArc (OneArc) have formalised an agreement to deepen their cooperation on simulation technologies for the Spanish Army’s land vehicle training programmes.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for collaboration was signed by Indra Group simulation director Rafael Junco and OneArc president Rahul C. Thakkar at Eurosatory 2026.

The MoA established a framework that will see Indra Group incorporate OneArc’s VBS4 system and Blue IG image generator into its existing training simulators.

VBS4 is an all-in-one virtual desktop training platform that lets users build and run a wide range of military training scenarios. Intended for tactical instruction, experimentation and mission rehearsal, it operates as a robust simulation host and can work with any image generator (IG).

OneArc’s Blue IG provides real-time visuals for mission training, tactical rehearsal and simulation applications. Using a whole‑earth rendering engine, it is designed to support high visual detail across land, sea, air and space environments for defence and civilian users.

The addition of these technologies is designed to strengthen scenario creation and improve visual fidelity in simulators used by the Spanish Army.

Rafael Junco said: “This agreement reinforces our commitment to continuing to provide state-of-the-art training solutions that are advanced, scalable and future-ready.

“The combination of our integration capabilities with OneArc’s technology enables us to respond effectively to current and future operational challenges.”

The agreement marks the initial phase of a broader partnership that may be extended to include other simulation programmes, technical cooperation, specialised training, and potential joint business activities.

The companies intend to work together on implementing immersive technologies, creating advanced synthetic environments, and integrating scalable, interoperable architectures for training.

Last month, Indra signed a separate memorandum of understanding with Rheinmetall Landsysteme to explore strategic collaboration on armoured vehicle projects for the Spanish Armed Forces.
