The US Army Environmental Command (USAEC) has awarded Parsons a position on a contract, worth $464m, for environmental remediation services at US Army sites.

The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) multiple award task order contract (MATOC) is set to span five years and includes a variety of services.

The services will focus on the treatment of hazardous toxic waste perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), munitions response, and operational range assessments.

Under the contract terms, Parsons will bid for task orders to conduct evaluations, investigations, and remediation at several US Army installations across the US and its territories.

The addition of this contract to Parsons’ portfolio marks a significant expansion of the company’s environmental remediation efforts.

Earlier in the year, Parsons announced its participation in a $245m US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) contract for Environmental Protection Agency cleanup projects. It was funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

Last year, Parsons’ subsidiary BlackHorse Solutions secured $12m contract for a research project under the Signature Management using Operational Knowledge and Environments (SMOKE) programme.

The contract was awarded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) of the US Department of Defense.
