The US Department of Defense has awarded a $3.37bn contract to Lockheed Martin for the sale of Phased Array Tracking Radar to Intercept on Target Advanced Capability-3 (Patriot PAC-3) missiles to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, under a foreign military sales programme.

Lockheed Martin will also provide ground support equipment and missile spare parts under the contract.

Contractual work will be performed at various locations in the US until December 2024.

Raytheon has been awarded a $692.9m contract by the US Army to produce Patriot integrated air and missile defence system for the Swedish Army.

The contract also includes the supply of Patriot fire units, GEM-T interceptor missiles, spares, as well as training and maintenance support.
