The US Department of Defense has awarded a $3.37bn contract to Lockheed Martin for the sale of Phased Array Tracking Radar to Intercept on Target Advanced Capability-3 (Patriot PAC-3) missiles to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, under a foreign military sales programme.

Lockheed Martin will also provide ground support equipment and missile spare parts under the contract.

Contractual work will be performed at various locations in the US until December 2024.

Raytheon has been awarded a $692.9m contract by the US Army to produce Patriot integrated air and missile defence system for the Swedish Army.

The contract also includes the supply of Patriot fire units, GEM-T interceptor missiles, spares, as well as training and maintenance support.

Sweden’s Patriot surface-to-air missile defence system will allow the US and Swedish armed forces to conduct training programmes and joint training exercises while improving interoperability between the countries.

The missile system offers protection against tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles.

URS Federal Services has been awarded a $200.11m contract modification by the US Army Contracting Command (ACC) for works related to army prepositions stocks.

The company will provide maintenance and transportation logistics support services for the prepositions stocks under the contract.

Work under the contract will be performed at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, and Doha, Qatar, until January 2020.

URS is a US federal government contractor involved in providing design, engineering, and construction services.

The US Army Contracting Command (ACC) has awarded a $205.21m contract to Raytheon Missile Systems for the purchase of land-based Phalanx close-in weapon system (CIWS).

Contractual work will be carried out at multiple locations until December 2023.

The Phalanx weapon system offers protection from anti-ship missiles, helicopters, and other close-in threats on land and at sea.

The US Army Contracting Command (ACC) has awarded an $81.89m contract modification to defence manufacturer DRS Sustainment Systems for active protection system.

DRS Sustainment Systems will provide countermeasures, calibration and maintenance kits, and associated equipment to the US Army under the contract.

Work under the contract will be performed in St Louis, Missouri, US, until May 2021.
