SGT, a subsidiary of KBRwyle, has secured a prime contractor position on the US Army's $12.1bn information technology enterprise solutions-3 services (ITES-3S) contract.

SGT, a subsidiary of KBRwyle, has secured a prime contractor position on the US Army’s $12.1bn information technology enterprise solutions-3 services (ITES-3S) contract.

Awarded by the US Army Contracting Command, the contract includes delivery of IT support solutions such as cybersecurity, telecommunications, and supply chain management.

The initial performance period for the ITES-3S contract is five years, which can be further extended by four years.

General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) has secured a $714m contract to modernise 174 M1A1 Abrams main battle tanks.

The M1A1 Abrams will be upgraded to M1A2 System Enhancement Package Version 3 (SEPv3) configuration, which includes improvements in communication and weapons systems along with other technical upgrades.

The current upgrade contract is part of the army requirements contract signed in 2017 for the upgrade of 435 M1A1 Abrams MBTs.

Contractual work will be carried out at various GDLS locations in the US until 2021.

Elbit Systems has been awarded a $333m ammunitions supply contract by the Ministry of Defence of Israel.

The contractor will supply ammunitions for a period of five years starting from 2026.

Based in Israel, Elbit Systems develops defence electronics systems.

Boeing has received a contract from Spain to modernise 17 CH-47D Chinook heavy-lift helicopters to the F-model in service with the Spanish Army.

The current contract is part of a contract signed between the US Army and Boeing in June 2018. The existing contract provides options for F-model configuration on 150 Chinooks for the US and its international customers.

The upgrade package includes an advanced digital automatic flight control system, advanced cargo handling system, and an advanced avionics system.

Delivery of the upgraded CH-47F tandem rotor helicopters will begin in 2021.

The US Army has awarded a $60.74m contract to Ohio-based survivability solutions manufacturer O’gara-Hess & Eisenhardt Armoring for the supply of protection kits for the army’s family of medium tactical vehicles (FMTV).

The protection kits will provide ballistic and blast protection along with under-body protection for the FMTVs.

Contractual work will be performed at select locations on order basis, until December 2023.
