Notably, Architecture and Engineering Occupations jobs accounted for a 9% share of the Canadian’s aerospace, defence and security industry new job postings in Q1 2023, up by 22% over the prior quarter.
Architecture and Engineering Occupations drive aerospace, defence and security hiring activity
Of the industry's total hiring activity, the highest number of new job postings were for Architecture and Engineering Occupations, which accounted for 9% of the total new job postings in Q1 2023 and were up by 80% year-on-year. Second highest were Computer and Mathematical Occupations, which accounted for 9% and rise by 3% year-on-year, and third highest were Management Occupations, which were 0.57% of the new job postings and 52% higher year-on-year.
Top five companies in aerospace, defence and security accounted for 79% of hiring activity
The highest number of jobs were posted by Bombardier with 669, followed by Raytheon Technologies with 366, while the highest increase was at CAE at 17%.
