Notably, Architecture and Engineering Occupations jobs accounted for a 22% share of the global aerospace, defence and security industry’s robotics-related total new job postings in Q4 2023, down 11% over the prior quarter.
Architecture and Engineering Occupations drive robotics-related hiring activity
Architecture and Engineering Occupations, with a share of 22%, emerged as the top robotics-related job roles within the aerospace, defence and security industry in Q4 2023, with new job postings drop by 11% quarter-on-quarter. Computer and Mathematical Occupations came in second with a share of 18% in Q4 2023, with new job postings dropping by 5% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent robotics roles include Management Occupations with a 9% share in Q4 2023, Production Occupations with a 4% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in aerospace, defence and security industry accounted for 28% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q4 2023 were Hensoldt, Relativity Space, Thales, MDA, and Saab. Together they accounted for a combined share of 28% of all robotics-related new jobs in the aerospace, defence and security industry.
Hensoldt posted 191 robotics-related new jobs in Q4 2023, Relativity Space 183 jobs, Thales 137 jobs, MDA 135 jobs, and Saab 114 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 54.89% share of total new job postings, Q4 2023
The largest share of robotics-related new job postings in the aerospace, defence and security industry in Q4 2023 was in the US with 54.89% followed by France (9.75%) and Germany (9.12%). The share represented by the US was three percentage points lower than the 58.33% share it accounted for in Q3 2023.
