Global Armour - Ballistic Body Armour, Demining Armour and Armour Plates

Global Armour is headquartered in Durban, South Africa, and is a leading provider of personal protection products for the military and police around the world. Its founders have over 40 years' experience in specialist armour products and manufacturing.

BALLISTIC BODY ARMOUR

Our body armour is available in a multitude of armour configurations: ballistic, stab resistant, fragmentation resistant and flotation. We use a variety of ballistic materials including: woven and unidirectional (shield) aramid and high-performance polyethylene.

FRAGMENTATION AND BALLISTIC PROTECTION

All our vests are offered with the following levels of ballistic protection (in accordance with NIJ Standard 0101.04 June 2001):

• NIJ Level I
• NIJ Level IIA
• NIJ Level II
• NIJ Level IIIA

Fragmentation resistance (V50) ranging from 450m/s up to 650m/s, in accordance with STANAG 2920 and US MIL-STD-662F.

BALLISTIC ARMOUR SERIES

We offer seven different ballistic armour series, making use of aramid and/or polyethylene ballistic fabrics and woven, unidirectional and/or Goldflex® configurations to meet various price and weight targets.

GENERAL-PURPOSE BALLISTIC VEST

The general-purpose ballistic vest is a basic armour vest providing front, back and side ballistic protection. Area of ballistic coverage: 0.30m².

CONCEALABLE VEST

The concealable vest follows the contours of the body and is a side-opening vest with adjustable elastic shoulders and small front-plate pocket. Ballistic coverage: 0.3m².

POLICE VEST

The police vest has front, back and side ballistic protection with front and back armour plate pocket and is side opening with adjustable shoulder straps. Ballistic coverage: 0.42m².

POLICE ASSAULT VEST

The police assault vest is a front opening tactical vest designed for over-the-uniform wear; offering extensive front, back and side ballistic protection, with adjustable shoulders and a small, helmet-friendly collar. Ballistic coverage: 0.53m².

MILITARY VEST

The military vest provides full front, back and overlapping side, neck, shoulder and groin ballistic protection for military and special forces. Ballistic coverage: 0.60m².

MILITARY ASSAULT VEST

The military assault vest is a high-mobility front-opening vest, worn over a soldier's uniform. It offers full front, back, overlapping side, neck, shoulder and groin ballistic protection. Ballistic coverage: 0.62m².

BALLISTIC FLOTATION VEST

The Global Armour 'Northgear' ballistic flotation vest provides ballistic protection and acts as a flotation vest. Buoyancy is not lost if the vest is penetrated by bullets or fragments. Floatation capacity: 100N (vest only), 150N (with collar).

FRAGMENTATION VEST

This lightweight fragmentation vest provides front, back and side fragmentation protection. Area of fragmentation protection: 0.42m².

DEMINING ARMOUR VEST

The demining vest provides maximum possible front, back, side, neck, shoulder and groin protection against fragments and explosions form detonating mines for deminers and EOD/IED specialists. Area of fragmentation protection: 0.60m².

DEMINING APRON

The demining apron provides protection for the front, neck, shoulder and groin areas at the front, leaving the back exposed, ensuring the apron can be worn for long periods without excessive heat build-up. The knees are reinforced with padding for maximum comfort.

IED SEARCH SUIT

The IED search suit provides full body protection against fragments and explosions. The outer fabric is water, fire and chemical proof. It has four separate components:

• Body armour
• Removable collar
• Trousers
• Removable groin protector

All soft armour panels are removable.

ARMOUR PLATES

We offer a complete line of high-performance steel, ceramic and lightweight polyethylene armour plates, designed to fit all our vests and provide protection against high-velocity weapons, covering NIJ Level III and IV (armour piercing).

CERAMIC ARMOUR PLATES

Our ceramic armour plates are made from aluminium-oxide 98% monolithic-tile, bonded with aramid or fibreglass - available as single or multi-curve, covered in black material and foam.

• ICW Level III - 2.7kg

• Stand-alone Level IV - 3.6kg

POLYETHYLENE ARMOUR PLATES

We offer lightweight, polyethylene armour plates constructed of Spectra and Dyneema in single or multi-curve, with a plastic or fabric finish.

• Level III - 1.3kg
• Level III+* - 1.4kg

*Also protects against 7.62mm x 39mm (AK47) – multi-shot.

BALLISTIC HELMETS, FACE SHIELDS AND ANTI-RIOT ARMOUR
